Castrol Iloform PN 221
fast-evaporating stamping oil based on solvents
Castrol Iloform PN 221 is a rapidly evaporating oil designed for sheet metal stamping operations, particularly electrical steel (transformer laminations). The formulation, based on odorless hydrocarbons, is enhanced with additives for improved wetting and lubricating properties, ensuring high process quality and temporary corrosion protection of workpieces.
Applications:
Castrol Iloform PN 221 is recommended for precision stamping of thin steel sheets, especially transformer core laminations. It is suitable for deep drawing operations on rotor components and other parts made from electrical steel.
Advantages and benefits:
- Fast evaporation: ensures clean processing without the need for post-cleaning of parts.
- Very low aromatic content: contains less than 0.01% aromatics, creating a safer working environment.
- Short-term corrosion protection: protects workpieces during and immediately after stamping.
- Excellent wetting ability: improves oil adhesion to the surface, enhancing stamping efficiency.
Classification according to standards:
- DIN 51 757 – Density at 15°C: 760 kg/m³
- DIN 51 562 – Viscosity at 20°C: 1.0 mm²/s
- ISO 2592 – Flash point: 58°C
- DIN 51 759 – Copper corrosion (3 h / 100°C): 1a
