NYCO GREASE GN GA 47
graphited anti-seize compound for assembly, dismantling and heavy-load applications

NYCO GREASE GN GA 47 is a specialised graphited anti-seize compound designed for demanding aerospace and industrial applications. The product is a homogeneous mixture of pure petrolatum and 50% micronised graphite. Its high graphite content provides effective anti-seize properties and makes the compound a fairly good electrical conductor. NYCO GREASE GN GA 47 is designed for assembly and dismantling operations, heavy-load applications and high-temperature environments where protection against seizing and sticking of mating components is required.

Applications:

NYCO GREASE GN GA 47 is used as an anti-seize compound and as an assembly and dismantling aid for mechanical components. It is suitable for heavily loaded components, including wheel applications, as well as components exposed to high temperatures. Typical applications include engine spark plugs, propeller shafts, splines, threaded fasteners and the fitting of rear parts of gas turbines.

Product advantages and benefits:

  • High micronised graphite content: 50% graphite provides effective anti-seize performance in demanding mechanical connections.
  • Protection against seizing: helps prevent components from sticking or seizing and facilitates subsequent dismantling.
  • Suitable for heavy-load applications: designed for highly loaded components, including wheel applications.
  • Suitable for high-temperature applications: intended for components such as engine spark plugs, propeller shafts, splines, threaded fasteners and gas turbine parts.
  • Assembly and dismantling performance: facilitates installation and subsequent disassembly of mating mechanical components.
  • Electrical conductivity: due to its high graphite content, the product is a fairly good electrical conductor.
  • Homogeneous consistency: its black, homogeneous paste form facilitates application to the required surfaces.
  • Aerospace applications: the product is approved and listed in the documentation of leading aircraft, engine and aerospace equipment manufacturers.

AIR 4247/A requirements:
The typical worked penetrability of NYCO GREASE GN GA 47 after 60 strokes is 224 × 0.1 mm, compared with the AIR 4247/A specified range of 170 to 260 × 0.1 mm. The typical graphite content is 50.0% by weight, within the specified range of 48–52% by weight. The product conforms to the copper corrosion requirement after 24 hours at 100°C. Typical oxidised ash content is 0.29% by weight, compared with the maximum permitted value of 0.6% by weight.

Important application information:
Due to its high content of micronised graphite, NYCO GREASE GN GA 47 is a fairly good electrical conductor. When selecting the compound for a specific connection, assembly or component, the equipment manufacturer's requirements and the characteristics of the mating materials should always be considered. For aerospace applications, the latest maintenance documentation and requirements of the aircraft, engine or component manufacturer should always be followed.

NYCO GREASE GN GA 47 is a high-performance graphited anti-seize compound designed for assembly, dismantling, heavy-load and high-temperature applications. Its formulation containing 50% micronised graphite helps reduce the risk of seizing and sticking while facilitating subsequent disassembly of mechanical components. AIR 4247/A Issue 2 and GE A50TF201 approvals, NATO Code S-720 and listings in Airbus, ATR, Boeing, Comac, Snecma and Airbus Helicopters documentation confirm its suitability for specialised aerospace applications.
